Wally prepares for the launch of two brand new models

16 May 2024

The first in June, the second in August. This is the schedule as revealed by Wally as the yard prepares to launch two different examples of its own conception of the sailing world, a world that Wally has revolutionised since its foundation 30 years ago in 1994.

The first scheduled launch is that of concept number one (a second unit is already under construction), the wallywind110 performance cruiser. The project for a new range of performance cruisers that had kicked off in 2019 with the acquisition of Wally by the Ferretti Group is thus close to fruition.

The construction of the first wallywind110, made entirely of carbon, started in 2022 and remained on schedule. Now all that is missing is the transport from the Forlì shipyard to Marina di Ravenna where the 6.95-metre telescopic keel, the two carbon fibre rudders and the 48-metre Hall Spars mast will be fitted. Then the launch will follow, of this 33.42-metre yacht which among other stand-out features offers a guest cockpit of no less than 80 square metres.

The wallywind110 will be followed in turn, in August, by the launch of the first wallyrocket51, a model Wally refers to as “the world’s fastest racing boat in compensated time“. Designed by Botin Partners Naval Architecture and developed by Wally’s technical department, the wallyrocket51 represents the pinnacle of cutting-edge research and the latest technology. While working on its conception, Harken and Cariboni joined forces to define and optimise the deck equipment and hydraulic systems, in collaboration with North Sails for the sails and Southern Spars for the mast.

2024 will mark an important year in the history of Wally, with the launch of our forty-ninth sailboat,” commented Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s Managing Director. While Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer at Wally, underlined how: “Whether she’s cruising or racing, a Wally yacht will always be a fast and innovative solution. This is why the brand remains a point of reference for sailing enthusiasts“.
