Amsterdam’s METSTRADE, the international boat show dedicated to operators from across the components and boating equipment segment of the yachting industry, will open its doors on Tuesday 15th November and close on 17th November.

The Italian Marine Industry Association will be taking part in the world-class event alongside a delegation of Italian businesses, organised in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency to support business development and networking opportunities for Italian industry operators, who will be using the Netherlands’ global showcase to promote their products, bearing the Made in Italy brand of Italian excellence.

The equipment and components segment of the Italian yachting industry plays a crucial role throughout the global market, driven by the highest standards of quality and technology and highly appreciated worldwide,” stated Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association. “Italy is the global market leader in the components and equipment sector, with a total turnover of roughly €1.57 billion in 2021, a +33.4% rise compared to 2020“.

The unmatched Italian excellence currently leading this market segment will be on full display in Amsterdam, represented by a delegation of 66 businesses who will be showcasing their products in Hall12, a display area of 1,346 square metres in addition to the 162 square metres of the Superyacht Pavilion. The Italian Marine Industry Association’s technical partners at the Metstrade event will be prominent names flying the Made in Italy banner, including Artemide for lighting and EMU for furnishings.

During METS, the Italian Marine Industry Association will be reaffirming its leading role on the international stage through its active role in ICOMIA –International Council of Marine Industry Associations – and EBI – European Boating Industry. In Amsterdam in particular, the Association will take part in numerous technical meetings and workgroups and will take part in the EBI Council meeting.

The Italian Marine Industry Association will also be a sponsor of the 2022 edition of the Boat Builder Awards, linking its name to one of the eight categories in the competition, specifically the Designer of the Year award, a decision that confirms the Italian industry association’s focus on key issues such as technology, design and style, qualities that define Italy’s leading industry expertise.

The announcement of the winners and presentation of the IBI-METSTRADE Boat Builder Awards is scheduled for Tuesday 15th November at Amsterdam’s historic National Maritime Museum.
