20 February 2024

Sanlorenzo has reduced its emissions by over 600 tonnes of CO2 per year. Thanks its the partnership with Axpo Energy Solutions Italia, the shipyard led by Cavalier Massimo Perotti, former president of the Italian Marine Industry Association, will soon build three photovoltaic plants for a total power of 1.5 MW.

The three new plants are in addition to those already existing, and totalling 500 MW, at Sanlorenzo’s headquarters in Ameglia and sites in La Spezia and Viareggio, and are part of the Group’s programme to increase installed power to 3.1 MW by the end of 2024.

The installations of photovoltaic plants in Ameglia, La Spezia and Viareggio,” explained Ferruccio Rossi, general manager and president of Sanlorenzo Superyacht, “represent an important step forward in our journey towards decarbonisation. For Sanlorenzo, this is a strategic investment that aligns with the company’s social and environmental responsibility objectives, demonstrating a long-term vision oriented towards sustainability.”

Excellence and sustainability represent principles that can help companies appropriately address the challenges that may arise from the ecological transition,” stated Marco Garbero, general manager of Axpo Energy Solutions Italia. “We believe that the partnership with Sanlorenzo is a tangible manifestation of such a vision, while also showing the potential of the green economy as an opportunity to generate unprecedented synergies between companies from across different sectors. At AESI, we want to continue forwards in this direction, promoting the adoption of renewable sources and energy efficiency as drivers for the development of the Country as a whole“.
