63rd Genoa International Boat Show News – With the Swan 48 MKII a historic Swan model returns

14 September 2023

In 1971 the first Swan 48 was born, a model that made the history of the shipyard. Today Swan at the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show presents the Swan 48 MKII, the result of the work of Germán Frers, who used the best specifications and solutions in terms of equipment and materials available on the market, without forgetting the style, quality and performance that have made the Swan legend.

Measuring 14.78 metres in length with a maximum beam of 4.78 metres carried all the way to the transom, the Swan 48 MKII offers large interior volumes combined with a deck plan designed for maximum efficiency, safety and comfort with a well-protected cockpit and large guest area.

The sail plan, with all halyards and rigging controlled from the cockpit and lines stowed in special compartments, includes a mainsail of 77.1 square metres, a jib of 62.5 square metres and a gennaker of 217 square metres.

The interiors designed by Misa Poggi are organised on the descent from the cockpit with a galley and chart house. Then, the saloon amidships is furnished with a dining and relaxation area. In the bow, the owner’s cabin with its bathroom. At the stern, a VIP cabin and a double cabin. The auxiliary engine is a 75 hp Volvo.
