Construction of the first WiderCat 92 designed by Luca Dini Design & Architecture in partnership with the Wider Style Centre continues at the Wider shipyard.
“We are immensely proud of the progress achieved with the WiderCat 92,” said Marcello Maggi, who heads W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that owns 100% of Wider. “Something that until only a few months ago was just an idea, jotted down on a sheet of paper, is now a 92-foot catamaran currently under construction, thanks to the tenacity of everyone at Wider, bringing a distinctive design to life using the best hybrid technology on the market.”
Construction of the first WiderCat 92 recently took a decisive step forward with the transfer of the two hulls to Fano, where they will soon be joined by the deck and superstructure and where the various systems will be installed and the painting and fitting-out of the interiors can take place.
The WiderCat 92 mounts the latest version of the Serial Hybrid Propulsion System first introduced in 2015 in the superyacht segment by Wider and which uses electricity produced by generators and solar panels for propulsion and on-board utilities.
