Fifteen minutes to get from Cala del Forte to Monaco. A record achievement that will be possible onboard the new A2V High Speed Shuttle, a cutting-edge motor catamaran that will connect the brand new marina in Ventimiglia with the Principality. Designed and built by the French shipyard in La Rochelle Advanced Aerodynamic Vessel, she will be christened with the name Monaco One, measuring 12 metres in length and 7.35 metres in width.
Launched last December, Monaco One is currently undergoing a series of sea trials after which she will be shipped to Monaco. The catamaran will arrive in Monaco and be received by Monaco Ports in mid-February and, following the various formalities and official launch, Monaco One will begin her role providing transport between Monaco and Cala del Forte.
Built entirely out of composite materials, Monaco One stands out for her innovative, aerodynamic design which, along with the design’s unique hull, cuts fuel usage by half. The motors used are two 250 kW Yanmars which allow the Monaco One to reach a cruising speed of 40 knots while carrying 12 passengers at the height of comfort.
The Monaco One’s arrival at Cala del Forte, which celebrated its opening on 15th October last year welcoming the International 15-meter class yacht and flagship of the Monaco Yacht Club, Tuiga, built in 1909, marks yet another exclusive addition to the marina’s tailored services which, alongside 178 berths designed for boats measuring from 6.5 to 70 metres, include 35 shops with bars, offices and a variety of technical boating services.
