ONE WEEK AFTER THE 58TH GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW, THE ASSOCIATION’S INTERNATIONALISATION INITIATIVE CONTINUES, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ITALIAN MINISTRY FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY
THE USA AND EUROPE WILL BE THE TARGET MARKETS WHERE UCINA WILL FOCUS ITS ACTIVITIES OF REPRESENTING, PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING THE ENTIRE ITALIAN LEISURE BOATING INDUSTRY.
The Ibex Show (2nd – 4th October 2018) has started yesterday in Tampa, Florida, organised by the NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association) and RAI Amsterdam, the first Autumn event for the export plan promoted by UCINA, Italy’s Marine Industry Association, following the success of the 58th Genoa International Boat Show which came to an end last week.
For the 2018/2019 plan aimed at boosting export, made possible by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development’s confirmation of its Extraordinary Plan to Promote the Made in Italy brand, UCINA is organising the first national Pavilion in Tampa, with a strong delegation of leading Italian businesses to represent the accessories and components market segment: Besenzoni, F.lli Razeto&Casareto, Gianneschi Pumps and Blowers, Idromar International.
The United States, soon to host the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (31st October – 4th November) which will feature a delegation of Italian businesses put together once again by the Italian Trade Agency and UCINA, is the world’s leading market in terms of registered yachtsmen and yachtswomen, of boats produced and of the amount of business generated by the sector.
“The link between METS Trade and Ibex, both coordinated by RAI Amsterdam, is an undoubtedly positive aspect, just as positive as the fact that RAI is currently in talks with UCINA to organise a national group – stated Alessandro Gianneschi, Business Development Gianneschi Pumps and Blowers. “This just goes to show how fundamental UCINA’s support has been. In collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, UCINA has organised groups of Italian companies for Mets over a period of years and has done the same this year for the American show in order to ensure Italian businesses would be represented. To take part in Ibex is a significant opportunity for our companies who want to go further than the showcase provided by the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and aim to make a name for themselves and invest in the American market, a key contact point for expanding into South America”.
Indeed, UCINA’s export plan aims to strengthen the presence of Italian businesses in strategic markets, by means of a boating industry support strategy approved by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development and put into practice by the Italian Trade Agency. The plan will see targeted interventions aimed at encouraging the internationalisation of Italian leisure boating businesses by having them take part in the most important shows worldwide.
Following the Ibex Show in Tampa and the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the Autumn season will come to a close with Italy’s traditional and consolidated presence at Amsterdam’s METS Trade from 13th to 15th November 2018. Here the Italian Marine Industry Association UCINA, in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency, will organise Italy’s national pavilion with 70 businesses in Halls 1 and 5 on a display area of 1650m2 and 16 brands in the superyacht pavilion.
These internationalisation initiatives will continue well into 2019, starting with Boot in Düsseldorf from 19th to 27th January, the boat show that opens the global boating season every year.
