UCINA, THE ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION, CONFIRMS ITS ROLE AS INSTITUTIONAL AMBASSADOR FOR THE INDUSTRY AT THE FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
OVER 30 ITALIAN BUSINESSES WILL TAKE PART IN THE EVENT
THE US MARKET IS ITALY’S NUMBER ONE EXPORT DESTINATION
This 31st October will mark the first day of the 59th Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The five-day event, which last year saw over 1,200 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors, every year showcases the very latest in motors and sails, along with a vast selection of boating accessories and components.
As part of the 2018/2019 export support plan, recently approved by the Italian Ministry for Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency, in partnership with UCINA (the Italian Marine Industry Association), will be organising a delegation of Italian businesses, all leaders in the components and accessories market. The businesses on display in the Italian pavilion will be: Aries (a Trieste Chamber of Commerce Special Company), Atep Italia, Api, Besenzoni, Boat Lift, Frigomar, Liguria Produce, Navaltecnosud, Opacmare, Schenker, Viraver Technology.
The export plan consists of targeted interventions aimed at encouraging the internationalisation of leisure boating businesses by having them take part in the most important events worldwide and by promoting the Genoa International Boat Show as the world’s showcase for the Made in Italy brand. The 2018 edition – which totalled 174,610 visitors and 951 brands on display – will be starring in a video that will be shown throughout the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
Italy will be represented by over 30 companies from the Italian boating landscape, including: Austin Parker, CMC Marine, Gianneschi Pumps&Blowers, Monte Carlo Yachts, Overmarine, Pardo Yachts, Rossinavi, Sanlorenzo, Yacht Controller, ZAR Formenti.
The United States is a key market for Italian businesses. According to “La Nautica in Cifre 2017” – the statistics report put together by UCINA’s Market Research Department, in partnership with the Edison Foundation and the Italian Leasing Association Assilea, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport – the US is the number one destination for Italy’s exports and the world’s leading market in terms of number of registered sailors, boats produced and amount of business generated by the industry, boasting an export value in 2017 of a staggering 298.6 million euros.
The international initiatives will then proceed with the formation, once again by UCINA and the Italian Trade Agency, of a delegation of companies for Amsterdam’s METSTRADE Show (13th – 15th November) and with an institutional presence at BOOT in Düsseldorf (19th – 27th January 2019).
