One Pardo 38 and two Pardo 43s. These will be the vessels Pardo Yachts will be providing to the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team for its adventure taking on the 36th America’s Cup.
The partnership between Pardo Yachts and the Italian team, which for the fifth time has declared its intention of challenging the defenders of the world’s oldest sporting trophy, will kick off with the America’s Cup World Series scheduled to take place from 23rd to 26th April in Cagliari. An event that will see, for the very first time, the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team and the defending team of the America’s Cup, Emirates Team New Zealand, alongside other challengers including the British team INEOS Team UK and the US team American Magic, racing for a chance to compete for the world title.
Pardo Yachts’ engagement in this Series, working with the team led by Max Sirena, will then see them travel from Cagliari to Auckland, New Zealand, where the last of the three World Series events will take place (the second taking place in England), all in anticipation of the Prada Cup in January 2021, the winner of which will have the chance to be challenger at the upcoming America’s Cup, set to take place in Auckland, from 6th to 21st March.
The Pardo 38, in the outboard Mercury 300 Hp version, capable of reaching 50 knots, was selected by Pardo Yachts to be the technical vessel for supporting and assisting the AC75 Luna Rossa, the revolutionary monohull featuring foil technology that will take centre stage at this upcoming edition of the America’s Cup. The two Pardo 43s, a Pardo Yachts design that acts as a perfect example of an entirely “Made in Italy” style, will, on the other hand, be dedicated to hospitality-related activities such as official guest cruiser.
