Wally’s first pure racing yacht, the new wallyrocket51 is designed to become the fastest owner-driver monotype in the world, ready to excel in IRC and ORC competitions.
At 15.5 metres long, for an ultra-light displacement of 6.3 tonnes thanks to its construction in pre-preg carbon, Nomex and Corecell, the wallyrocket51
was developed in collaboration with Botin Partners (Marcelino Botin is Head of Design Team of Alinghi Red Bull Racing at the 37th America’s Cup).
Among the key features of the submerged surfaces is the keel trim tab that allows narrower upwind angles.
Versatile and easy to manoeuvre, even with a crew of just 11 people, thanks to the research put into the best ergonomics possible applied to the deck plan, the wallyrocket51 is equipped with waterballast and has a sail plan of 167 square metres upwind and 363 square metres when sailing upwind.
