10 out of the 58 products nominated to be in the running for the DAME Design Awards will have been nominated from Italian companies this edition, The DAME Award recognises the best products presented at METS Trade (Amsterdam, 19th – 21st November), assessed in terms of the products’ functionality, aesthetics, packaging, end product as well as their environmental impact.
The announcement of the winners of each of the eight categories and the name of the overall winner will take place as part of the opening day of the Dutch trade fair, and during the Show all nominated products will be displayed in a dedicated area of the exhibition. The following are the Italian nominations.
For the Security & safety aboard category, Veleria San Giorgio was nominated with its Safety Drone, the innovative integrated marine rescue system both at sea and in aquatic environments in general that allows for rescue operations to take place even in the most critical conditions and that was presented for the first time at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show.
For the Comfort & entertainment afloat category, a nomination came from Besenzoni with its Hel Seat Manta, an armchair dedicated to the pilot and made with keen attention to the design’s ergonomics and with automatic electric adjustment systems that guarantee a perfect seating position.
Also in the Comfort & entertainment afloat category, nominations have been put forward for Indel Webasto Marine with its Slim-Fit Cooling Unit and for Blue-Airco with its EcoFlow AC Controller, a compact low voltage air conditioner
In the Deck equipment category, DAME Design Awards nominations have been proposed for Antal and its Spinner, which optimises performance and extends the lifespan of the textile shackle. Also in the same category were Douglas Marine for the E-Step electric ladder, which makes it easier to get in and out of the water, and Easysea with its tear-proof and scratch-proof Olli Block.
Finally, in the Electronic & electrical systems category, Friuli-based company B Light has been nominated for its Nicole WW, a flush lighting system capable of distributing light symmetrically or asymmetrically both indoors and outdoors.
