The delivery took place at Marina di Cala dei Sardi (Cugnana, Olbia) and saw the first Lagoon Seventy8 Zenit find her new home, having been sold in Italy by the NSS Group brand NSS Yachting, the CEO of which, Simone Morelli is president of the “Yacht Leasing and Chartering” segment of the Italian Marine Industry Association Confindustria Nautica.
“The decision process behind the Zenit’s new owner’s choice of design,” explained Morelli, “is to combine the typical comfort of a catamaran with the speed of a motorboat. The Seventy8 is capable of exceeding 20 knots and maintaining a cruising speed of 12-14 knots. Zenit is the perfect alternative to a motorboat, with the advantage of providing a great deal more stability. In fact, the catamaran has no actual need of stabilisers as sailing over waves is a much smoother experience.”
The Lagoon Seventy8 features water lines designed by the French studio of Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost, the design is by the Milanese studio Nauta Design of Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino, and the aesthetic is that of Patrick le Quément, a French designer from the world of car design. Patrick was head of the Renault Style Centre from 1987 to 2009 and leaves his signature on all Lagoon models.
Measuring 23.80 metres in length by 11 metres in width, the Lagoon Seventy8 spreads, fly bridge included, across a surface area of approximately 320 square metres and can exceed a top speed of 20 knots with a cruising speed of 12-14 knots.
There are numerous possibilities for customising the main deck with a stern living area, a saloon and a bow lounge. The rooms in the port hull can also be organised in a variety of combinations ways, while the starboard hull is organised with two cabins, one aft and, forward, a master cabin, with the possibility of a balcony opening onto the sea.
The Zenit, purchased under the management programme and after the holiday period agreed with the owner, will be available to the NSS First Class fleet, joining the Seventy7, Sixty5 620 and 55.
