Tomorrow morning, 24th September 2018, the Genoa International Boat Show will receive its first ever official visit from the country’s President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. The state visit confirms how powerful a symbol of hope and recovery the event has been and continues to be, following the tragic collapse of the Morandi bridge only weeks before the opening ceremony of the International Boat Show.
The Italian head of state will arrive in the morning to walk through the International Boat Show, Genoa’s first chance to show the world it’s resilience while recovering from the recent tragic events.
Italy’s top political figure will be meeting with the President of UCINA, the Italian Marine Industry Association, Carla Demaria along with a number of Vice Presidents who will also be present for the exceptional visit.
The presence of the President of the Republic, such a fundamental political institution in Italy, at the 58th edition of Genoa’s International Boat Show, is an unmistakable sign of this edition’s unwavering success, confirming its place as the most visited event on the Mediterranean and global showcase for industry leaders worldwide.
