METSTRADE 2021: ITALIAN AMBASSADOR TO THE NETHERLANDS VISITS THE DELEGATION OF ITALIAN BUSINESSES ORGANISED BY THE ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION AND ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY.

This morning marked the opening of METSTRADE in Amsterdam, the international trade show dedicated to the components and equipment segments of the leisure boating industry.

Italian businesses taking part in the delegation organised by Confindustria Nautica, Italy’s Marine Industry Association, in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency, received an official visit from the Italian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Giorgio Novello, and Italian Trade Agency Bruxelles President Luigi Ferrelli, accompanied by a team of delegates.

During this visit, the Ambassador stated: “Metstrade has demonstrated once more just how much of an essential event it is for the international boating industry. The exceptional degree of visibility for Italian businesses is also due to the fundamental teamwork between institutions, associations and companies”.

“And once again – continued Ambassador Novello, – the Italian Pavilion has proved to be a great success, realised by Confindustria Nautica and the Italian Marine Industry Association. This has allowed Italian businesses to showcase the best of the Made in Italy brand, the peak of research and development, care for the environment, excellent supply networks and a strong propensity for export, even now as Italy is fully recovering its ground in the Netherlands. The boating industry, due to its inherent completeness, is a perfect tool for promoting Made in Italy production in view of very positive and direct consequences for the economy as a whole.”

The delegation of businesses, as part of Italy’s export promotion plan aimed at supporting business development and networking opportunities throughout the industry on a global scale, due to the recent worsening of the healthcare situation and subsequent restrictions imposed by the Dutch government, has seen a number of its members decide to forfeit their place at the event.

Tomorrow, 17th November, during the 2021 edition of the prestigious Boat Builder Awards, organised jointly by IBI and METSTRADE, the Italian Marine Industry Association Confindustria Nautica will be sponsoring the Environmental Initiative Award for the fifth year running, an award dedicated entirely to the topic of sustainability, an issue of paramount importance for the Industry Association.

The other five categories up for the Boat Builder Awards are: Collaborative Solution between Boat or Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner, Innovative On-Board Design Solution, Retail Marketing Initiative, Lifetime Achievement Award and Rising Star.

The Italian Marine Industry Association’s key role when it comes to international representation will also see the Association taking part in numerous Working Groups organised by ICOMIA  – International Council of Marine Industry Associations – such as the Market Intelligence Taskforce, the Technical Committee, the Superyacht Division, the Exporters Committee and Combined meeting, and the ICOMIA General Assembly.
