Garmin, a leading brand in onboard electronics, has announced its appointment as official supplier for Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, the Italian team that will be competing in next year’s 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona.
“To be official supplier to Team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli once again is a tremendous honour,” stated Stefano Viganò, CEO of Garmin Italia. “This is an exceptional result made possible by the continuous work that Garmin is doing every day in the sailing sector, taking technological innovation to the next level.”
Luna Rossa has taken part in five editions of the America’s Cup with the aim of winning the historic trophy and bringing it to Italy. To make this happen, the highest level of physical performance is required, which is why Garmin will also support Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli with a wide range of physical training products, including Edge cycling computers, Power Meter Rally pedals, smart scales and Index sensors. All training scores will also be monitored and visible thanks to the Garmin Connect platform.
