CONFINDUSTRIA NAUTICA WILL BE “ITALY’S HOME BASE” FOR ITALIAN BOATING BUSINESSES AT BOOT DUSSELDORF

THE OVERSEAS PROGRAMME FOR PROMOTING THE 60TH GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW (17TH – 22ND SEPTEMBER 2020), ALONG WITH UCINA ACTIVITIES, CONTINUES

HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR ITALIAN NOMINEES AT THIS YEAR’S “FLAGSHIP NIGHT”, THE “OSCARS” OF EUROPEAN SHIP BUILDING

Confindustria Nautica, the Italian Marine Industry Association, will be taking part in the 51st editionof Boot Düsseldorf (18th – 26th January 2020), with an institutional stand (Hall 7 A / G09) for the overseas promotion and internationalisation of Italian businesses. During Boot, this stand will act as the reference point for the 167 Italian businesses taking part, along with the Italian and international operators who will be visiting the German show.

As always, Confindustria Nautica will be taking part in Boot alongside Italian businesses, to support and promote Italy’s level of excellence on the global stage of the recreational boating industry – stated Saverio Cecchi, President ofConfindustria Nautica – We will be “Italy’s Home Base”, an open space for all businesses flying the Made in Italy banner to meet and compare notes while in Düsseldorf, not just as exhibitors.”

Boot will be brimming with high-profile events during its dates. On Friday 17th January, beginning at 9.00am, the event entitled Sea Tourism Summit: Navigating a sea of opportunities”, held by The Economist, will provide the latest on the current challenges and opportunities of nautical tourism. Andrea Razeto, Vice President of Confindustria Nautica and President of ICOMIA – the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, will be taking part in a panel focused on the question: How is the Nautical Tourism Sector Contributing to the World’s Economy?

On Saturday 18th January, the spotlight will fall on the “Oscars” of European ship building, the long-awaited Flagship Night, during which awards are issued for “European Powerboat of the Year 2020” and “European Yacht of the Year 2020“. Italian brands among those nominated include: for motors, the Pardo 38 (for the under 14 metres category) and, for the under 20 metres category, the Azimut Atlantis 45 alongside the Solaris Power 48 Open; competing for sails will be the Italia Yachts 11.98 (for the Performance Cruiser category) and the Grand Soleil 42 LC (for the Luxury Cruiser category). The event will also see the “Seamaster 2020” prize being handed out to a key figure who has stood out in the world of water sports.

On Tuesday 21st January at 9.00am, the Vice President of Confindustria Nautica Piero Formenti, as Past President and Board Member of EBI – the European Boating Industry, will take part in the traditional International Breakfast Meeting, a moment dedicated to networking and providing the latest market trends. Piero Formenti will also be part of the EBI Council and General Assembly.

The Düsseldorf boat show will also be the perfect opportunity to continue the promotion of the 60th Genoa International Boat Show which will take place in Genoa from 17th to 22nd September this year, following an international programme that has included being a part of Columbus Day in New York on 12th October, the Ibex Show in Tampa, the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and the METS show in Amsterdam.

For 2020, the international programme with regards to taking part in overseas boat shows, with a formula composed of institutional participation and a delegation of Italian businesses, following Boot Düsseldorf, will see UCINA take part in the Dubai International Boat Show (10th– 14th March), the Singapore Yacht Show (19th – 22nd March), the Ibex Show in Tampa, Florida (29th September – 1st October), the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (28th October – 1st November) and the METSTRADE Show in Amsterdam (17th – 19th November).
