COVID-19 –UPDATE ITALY REOPENED INTERNATIONAL BORDERS FROM JUNE 3rd, 2020 NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL AND MOVEMENT From 3 June 2020, starting day of Phase 3, trips between Italian Regions and travel to and from abroad is allowed. Visitors from the EU, Schengen countries and the UK are permitted to enter Italy without the 14-day self-isolation measure, still required for arrivals from other nations at least until 15 June. Some Italian Regions (e.g. Sardinia, Sicily, Apulia and Lazio) are now asking registration for visitors entering their territory in order to monitor the entries. Visitors will simply have to register online or by app, providing their personal data. SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES In Italy, the use of masks is generally compulsory in public spaces, when using public transport, when the 1m social distancing is not possible, in private cars for non-cohabitants (max. 3 persons/car). Confindustria Nautica, the Italian Marine Industry Association, shares the latest information On 19th May, via its Decree n. 34/2020 the Italian Government established that, starting on 3rd June 2020, all borders between Italy and the rest of Europe will be reopened, including those separating member states of the European Union, countries part of the Schengen area and Switzerland. For this reason, starting 3rd June 2020, all movement to and from foreign countries can only be limited by state regulations, including those relating to specific states and territories, provided they be adequate and proportional to the current level of epidemiological risk, and in line with the restrictions that derive from EU legislation and international obligations (art. Yesterday, 6th February, the Confindustria Nautica General Council, having convened in Genoa, formalised the addition of many new association members while also launching the process to integrate the respective governing bodies of the Association into the Council and Industry Assembly.
