Inspired by the highest standards of innovation, Northern Light Composites will be joining the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show with its Ecoracer OD 30, the first one-design in the world built with recyclable materials, designed by Matteo Polli.
The Ecoracer OD 30 is the third boat from the company founded in 2019 by Fabio Bignolini, Andrea Paduano and Piernicola Paoletti, after the Ecoracer 25, the sportboat also built with recyclable materials that won the Design Innovation Award at the 61st International Boat Show in Genoa, and the ecoFoiler, a 3.80-metre foil dinghy.
The rComposite construction technology with which the Ecoracer OD30 was built envisages the use of a thermoplastic matrix combined with the lightness of carbon fibres for the hull, while the cockpit was built using linen fibre. A combination that guarantees complete recyclability at the end of the boat’s life.
The Ecoracer OD 30 is 3.03 metres wide, has a draught of 2.30 metres and a displacement of 1800 kg. The sail plan consists of a mainsail of 35.5 square metres, jib of 25 square metres and asymmetrical sail of 105 square metres.
