Three new communication systems for boats, each equipped with an integrated GPS receiver.
The 115i, the 215i and the 215i AIS VHF models will be among the latest products to be displayed by Garmin Italia. Strong, compact, waterproof and featuring a D Class DSC system, the new Garmin VHFs are connected via the NMEA 2000 network to chartplotters and multi-functional displays becoming a fully integrated control panel. The systems are equipped with DSC, or Digital Selective Calling, which allows the user to send out an emergency signal with the touch of a button, containing, if so programmed by the user, the boat’s MMSI number and position. The signal is repeated every four minutes.
Thanks to this innovative feature, users can set sail knowing they will be safe, whatever the conditions.
