25 November 2024

A POSITIVE EDITION FOR THE COLLECTIVE OF ITALIAN EXHIBITORS COORDINATED BY THE ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION AND ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY

The Made in Italy brand captured the global spotlight at METSTRADE in Amsterdam, demonstrating its strength and ability to anticipate market trends.

The collective of 75 Italian companies exhibiting in the Italian Pavilion, coordinatedby the key partnership between the Italian Marine Industry and Italian Trade Agency, offered visitors an extensive overview of Italian expertise, proving once again that Italy is the global benchmark for the design and construction of equipment and components, defined by innovative design and high quality. The pavilion dedicated to Superyachts also acted as the perfect showcase for Italian excellence in the construction of high-end yachts, another segment in which Italy is the world leader.

Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association
: “The synergy between the Italian Marine Industry Association and Italian Trade Agency has been instrumental in amplifying the image and identity of Made in Italy production worldwide, continuing once again to demonstrate our country’s leadership across the yachting sector. A place in the Italian Pavilion offers our companies a unique opportunity to consolidate their presence on the international market, enhancing the quality, innovation and design that distinguish Italian products“.

The companies part of the Italian collective also expressed their satisfaction, having exhibited in the Dutch show’s Hall 12.

Anton Francesco Albertoni – CEO of Veleria San Giorgio and former President of the Italian Marine Industry Association: ” Metstrade is the perfect event to celebrate the yachting industry and of the leading role played by Made in Italy components, which have won over all those international customers who recognise the style, design and excellence of our products. Our vast assortment of 75 companies, the greater amount of display space compared to last year, and the many Italian flags flying were sure to generate a powerful impact. We can share nothing but important results and a great deal of satisfaction along with that of all the sector operators, thanks to our Italian Marine Industry Association and the Italian Trade Agency and their support, which we hope will continue to increase over the coming years“.

Barbara Amerio – CEO of Permare Group and Italian Marine Industry Association Councillor:
During METSTRADE I attended the Superyacht Forum, a fascinating panel focused on sustainability. Emissions and regulations aimed at yachting were among the main topics discussed. Throughout there was a common drive to cooperate even more as the superyacht segment is set to be strongly affected by regulations. The opening address of the Forum by Giovanna Vitelli provided very positive feedback on the Italian industry and its plans for the future. There has also been plenty of positive feedback from the Superyacht Pavilion where the Italian expertise in both the technical and aesthetic took centre stage“.

Alessandro Gianneschi – CEO of Gianneschi Pumps&Blowers and Vice President of the Italian Marine Industry Association:
“After these three days of the event, there can be nothing but positive feedback, both in terms of quantity and quality of visitors. We met with customers from all over the world. The Italian Pavilion continues to be one of the most interesting pavilions. I had the opportunity to talk to several of the 75 Italian companies exhibiting here who confirmed their satisfaction with the turnout. This also bodes well for us in terms of the market. In all in, we are certainly satisfied with the exhibition and the work carried out by the Italian Marine Industry Association and Italian Trade Agency in organising the Italian collective”.

Luciano Paissoni – CEO of Foresti&Suardi and Italian Marine Industry Association Councillor: “We have been exhibiting at METS for 35 years now and are indeed satisfied with this edition. We have been able to gather new contacts and gain in appreciation. The Italian Pavilion is proving to be increasingly successful in a scenario where Italy continues to be the undisputed leader in the yachting market, with the equipment and components segment equally pulling its weight in terms of quality and turnover. In terms of identity and visibility, we certainly consider our participation in the Italian collective organised by the Italian Marine Industry Association in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency within the Italian Pavilion to be very much a positive“.

Andrea Razeto – CEO of F.lli Razeto e Casareto and President of the Genoa Boat Show’s organising company I Saloni Nautici: “Once again, this year’s METSTRADE continues its role as the reference exhibition for marine equipment and components. We had a lot of visitors, quality business-oriented customers. The Italian collective was also one of the biggest, if not the biggest ever, with significantly positive comments from all those taking part. There is a high degree of satisfaction with both the positioning and the organisation of the collective itself, both very positively received. I also sensed a great deal of anticipation concerning the current market trends and the outlook for next year.

Piero Formenti – CEO of ZAR Formenti and Vice President of the Italian Marine Industry Association: “The Amsterdam METS event proved to be a unique opportunity to strengthen the international perception of the excellence that is the Made in Italy yachting industry. The Italian Marine Industry Association’s participation at METS was also strategic in terms of international interaction at a technical and regulatory level. We took part in the traditional Council Meeting of the European Boating Industry federation, defining the main focal points for 2025, which will be characterised by resuming points of contacts between the yachting industry and the new European governance. In mid-December, a day dedicated to key meetings between EBI and a number of new MEPs is already planned in Brussels, at the European Parliament, to present the details and needs of our industry for the upcoming legislature“.

The Italian Marine Industry Association was also actively involved in the many working groups held by ICOMIA, including the new Trade&Market Intelligence Committee, which will be led for the next three years by Stefano Pagani Isnardi, Head of the Italian Marine Industry Association’s Research department.

The next event on the calendar for companies active in the Italian yachting industry is scheduled to take place in Rome on 12th December with the Italian Marine Industry Association Members Assembly, where yachting sector entrepreneurs will come together for a day of insightful discussions and work dedicated to the industry and its latest developments. The main theme of the session open to the public, entitled “Nautica, la rotta tracciata dalle riforme nel contesto internazionale” (“Yachting, the new course set by recent reforms in a global context”), will be Blue Economy policies and new regulations for the sector. During this traditional end-of-year assembly, the Italian Marine Industry Association intends to discuss with the Italian government and key institutions about reforms and industrial policies, the international competitiveness of the sector and of the Italian flag, port development, and the user simplifications contained in the recent regulatory reforms carried out by the executive branch.
