PARTICPATION NUMBERS CONTINUE CLIMB AS THE AWARD GROWS IN APPRECIATION BY EXHIBITORS
FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING THE AWARD JURY WILL BE CHAIRED BY MARIA PORRO, PRESIDENT OF MILAN’S FURNITURE AND DESIGN SHOW, THE SALONE DEL MOBILE.MILAN
Genoa, 11th September 2024– The 64th Genoa International Boat Show is ready to shift the spotlight onto the fifth edition of the Design Innovation Award, a key event dedicated rewarding and celebrating excellence and innovation from across the yachting world.
“The Design Innovation Award is a prestigious recognition devoted to helping promote the image of our industry on the international stage,” commented Andrea Razeto, President of the Genoa Boat Show’s organising company I Saloni Nautici. “This is more than just a celebration of the very best projects conceived to date, this prize acts as a window into the future. The award-winning designs represent a dynamic showcase displaying the emerging trends and latest frontiers of nautical design that have the potential to become a reference point for the entire industry, inspiring new designers and companies to always aim higher.”
For the second year in a row, chairing the Award’s independent Jury, made up of national and international experts, will be Maria Porro, President of Milan’s Furniture and Design Show, the Salone del Mobile.Milano, a leading figure on the international design scene. Under her guidance, the Jury will be called upon to sift through the nominations and determine who has exceeded expectations throughout this past year, a selection process that will shine the spotlight on the sector’s inherent dynamic nature and the event’s commitment to promoting the peak of design and innovation.
The Design Innovation Award is divided into ten categories, each of which is awarded a prize. During the award ceremony, three Special Prizes will also be handed out, for Outstanding Innovation, Outstanding Career and Outstanding Talent – awarded to designs and designers that have stood out over time for their original ideas, sustainable approach and social impact.
The ceremony will take place on Friday 20th September at the historic Palazzo della Borsa in Genoa, a stunning example of Art Nouveau architecture that will offer a unique atmosphere to celebrate the winners and pioneers of the yachting industry.
