Genoa to be world capital of foiling in April

Genoa will host the world of foiling at the first World Foiling Congress, promoted and organised by The Foiling Organisation and during which the seventh edition of the Foiling Awards will be presented to the best foiling athletes, projects, and products from the last twelve months.

The World Foiling Congress will be held from 17^th to 19^th April and is sponsored by the Italian Marine Industry Association Confindustria Nautica, EBI (the European Boating Industry federation) and ICOMIA (the International Council of Marine Industry Associations), of which The Foiling Organization is a Sustaining Member.

The Foiling Awards evening will take place on 18^th April with 13 categories up for grabs: female sailor, male sailor, sailing team, technological innovation, sustainability, project, event, training course, motorboat, commercial project, one-off boat, production boat and water-toy as well as the new Forlanini Award category, inspired by Enrico Forlanini, the Italian foiling pioneer.

The Foiling Awards will be assigned on the basis of votes gathered from insiders and from enthusiasts online. Preferences may be sent in online until 3^rd April, by registering on the Foiling Awards website at https://foilingawards-halloffame.org.
