The Genoa Cricket and Football Club is the oldest football club in Italy, founded on September 7, 1893, at the British Consulate in Genoa. The club’s honors include one Coppa Italia (1937), four international triumphs (2 Coppe delle Alpi in 1962 and 1964, 1 Coppa dell’Amicizia Italo-Francese in 1963, and the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1996).
The activities promoted at the beginning were fundamental in spreading the practice of football and the values of sport. Since 2013, the club has been part of the Club of Pioneers, an entity recognized by FIFA, comprising the genealogical tree of the world’s oldest clubs.
Genoa holds numerous records, some related to sports achievements and others to the organization and life of the club and the Genoese community.
