An important recognition for CRN. With the Sustainable Powered Yacht (SuP-Y) project the Ferretti Group’s shipyard was awarded at the Boat Builder Awards in the Supply Chain Collaboration – Superyachts category. The award recognises the cohesive work between Ferretti Group Superyachts Division, Weichai Power Science & Technology Division and Rina Services Spa.
CRN’s Sustainable Powered Yacht (SuP-Y) is a certified sustainable energy architecture for future superyacht construction that envisages the installation of an innovative fuel cell system, powered by green methanol, to be implemented on board CRN superyachts.
The project consists of two platforms: one with hybrid propulsion for yachts from 60 to 70 metres and one with diesel/electric propulsion for yachts from 75 to 90 metres.
Both architectures are equipped with a Fuel Cell PEM system as an alternative energy source, fuelled by hydrogen reformed from green methanol and optimised to guarantee predefined levels of performance and autonomy.
