THE 63rd EDITION OF THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW CLOSES WITH 118,269 VISITORS (+13.9%)
SAVERIO CECCHI, PRESIDENT OF THE ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION: “TODAY MARKS THE LAST DAY OF THE GENOA BOAT SHOW. THE 64th EDITION WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 19th TO 24th SEPTEMBER 2024″.
The Genoa International Boat Show closes its 63rd edition with 118,269 visitors registered as of 11.00 am on 26th September – the event’s closing day -, marking a 13.9% increase compared to 2022.
1,043 brands on display, an increase of 4.5% compared to 2022, over 1,000 boats – measuring from 2 to 40 metres in length – 143 additional berths in the water thanks to the opening of the new canals. 184 premieres and new designs ondisplay (+9.5% compared to 2022). 3,190 sea trials carried out.
120 conferences and workshops were organised, 1,316 journalists accredited, 2,294 articles published during the event period alone, from 20th to 26th September, and over 11 hours of television coverage dedicated to the event.
“These are the numbers of a Show that continues to outdo itself year after year and that, in this edition, went beyond our own expectations,” declared Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association and I Saloni Nautici. “I would like to thank my team, who worked hard to achieve this result, and I am proud to be at the helm of this crew. Our goal is to become the number one industry event in the world. We are working to achieve this goal, a goal that will be made possible thanks to the close cooperation between the public and private sectors, and ensuring the new Waterfront di Levante, designed by Renzo Piano, will become the finest exhibition area in the world, specifically tailored to the yachting sector. Tomorrow we will start working on organising the next edition, scheduled from 19th to 24th September 2024“.
The 63rd Genoa International Boat Show will be remembered for this year’s unprecedented participation and attention of Government authorities and institutions, with the official visit of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructures and Transport Matteo Salvini, Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies, and the National Reform Programme Raffaele Fitto, Minister forCivil Protection and Sea Policies Nello Musumeci, Minister for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, Minister for Business and Made in Italy Production Adolfo Urso, and Minister for Defence Guido Crosetto (who participated in the Boat Show’s inaugural conference via video link), President of the General Confederation of Italian Industries Carlo Bonomi, and President of ENI Giuseppe Zafarana.

The 63rd Genoa International Boat Show was also able to count on the support of the Italian Trade Agency, which organised, in partnership with the Italian Marine Industry Association, the participation at the Genoa Boat Show of a delegation of foreign journalists and buyers from 35 countries spanning 5 continents through the international press and B2B tour included in the Made in Italy Promotion Plan of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
