The CdP Custom Division of Cantieri di Pisa has completed the sale of a 37.50 metre technological explorer. The construction will be in steel with a composite superstructure. Design and engineering will bear the signature of Marcelo Penna.
“This sale is a first important step of our CdP Custom Division,” commented Marco Massabò, managing director of the historic shipyard now owned by Enrico Gennasio. “We are thrilled to have concluded this important order in such a short time thanks to the cooperation of all parties involved, and especially of our commercial division and technical department.”
The new Explorer, also designed for charter services, will feature six cabins for guests and five for the crew. The owner’s suite forward on the main deck will be equipped with its own private terrace. Also on the main deck will be a full-beam VIP suite. The other four cabins will be on the lower deck.
Spacious and bright interiors will flow into outdoor spaces that will offer, among other things, a Jacuzzi as well as ample sofas and sundecks. These complete the layout of this Explorer, equipped with a tender garage amidships featuring a side launching system for a tender up to 6.5 metres long and several wave runners.
The new Explorer is powered by a pair of 1,000 hp MAN V8s and is equipped with generators and a hybrid power battery pack that will enable electric propulsion as well as a generous overnight range.
With the two diesel engines boasting the highest environmental rating (IMO III Epa Tier IV), Cantieri di Pisa’s new Explorer will be able to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots and a 14 knots cruising speed with a range of 2,600 miles. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2026.
