Cantiere delle Marche sells their second Flexplorer 165

1 August 2024

A US owner for Cantiere delle Marche’s second Flexplorer 165, the sale of which was announced after the recent sale of the first just last April. At 49.90 metres in length and with a beam of 9 metres, the Flexplorer 165 is designed, like the rest of the entire series, by Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec who developed the naval architecture and engineering while the interior design is by Design Unlimited.

A key feature of the new Flexplorer 165 is the standard pickleball court that the owner wanted onboard and which has entailed significant structural modifications with the aft overhang of the upper deck (equipped with a touch-and-go helicopter pad) having been extended to fully cover the main deck below.

The pitch is surrounded by carbon poles that support a net to prevent the poles from falling into the sea and is completed by two spectator areas: one adjacent to the pitch and one on the sundeck above.

The new Flexplorer 165 is spread over three decks plus the sundeck and features the master cabin on the main deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck. Five cabins plus the captain’s quarters provide accommodation for the crew. Powered by two 970 kW Caterpillar C32 Acert engines the second Flexplorer 165 reaches a top speed of 15 knots with a range of 4800 miles at 10 knots.
