Apreamare achieves the impossible with the Gozzo 35 Speedster
A 40-knot gozzo? Yes, it is possible. And Apreamare presented their solution at the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show with their Gozzo 35 Speedster, a project commissioned by Cataldo Aprea, the yard’s founder in 1983, who wanted to shake up the world of traditional boats once again. To do this, Cataldo Aprea turned to Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design, who designed the high-performance hull to which Marco Casali gave a refined style, completing the Gozzo 35 Speedster project, which even with its black hull immediately shows its sporty spirit driven onward by two 400 hp Mercury engines. “The challenge,” commented Cataldo Aprea, “was to make a gozzo capable of reaching 40 knots. In testing we reached 43! and we proved that even a gozzo can be a fast boat!”.
