Ecoracer, the 7.69-metre sportboat built with rComposite technology by Northern Light Composites using natural fibres and recyclable materials and which received the Design Innovation Award at the 61st Genoa International Boat Show, is now listed among the finalists of the 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award, a prize reserved for sustainable projects promoted by World Sailing, the World Sailing Federation.
Designed by Matteo Polti, ecoracer, in addition to the linen-fibre hull and recyclable core, is equipped with sails developed by OneSails based in Bussolengo (Verona), made with 4T FORTE OneSails technology, which uses a particular ultra-resistant polyethylene allowing 100% of the sails to be recycled when decommissioned.
Other than the impressive eco-sustainable hull and sails, the model also features an ecobraid mainsheet, developed using linen and recycled polyester by Armare Ropes, along with a Fly Solar Tech solar panel that powers the bilge pumps and a Mitek electric outboard.

Ecoracer marks the second Sustainability Award nomination for Northern Light Composites, after being nominated in 2020 for ecoprimus, a small 2.42 metre long dinghy.
