Genoa, 29th October 2021 – Yesterday, the General Council of the Italian Marine Industry Association determined the upcoming dates for next year’s Genoa International Boat Show: the event’s 62nd edition will take place from 22nd to 27th September 2022.
This year, the Genoa International Boat Show, the world-class showcase that has brought exhibitors, industry professionals and seafaring enthusiasts to Genoa from across the globe since 1962, was once again an international “point of reference for the yachting world”, following the previous edition in 2020 which saw the Genoa-based Show become the only industry event in Europe to take place in person and in full compliance with all health and safety laws and guidelines. This year’s Genoa International Boat Show saw 93,782 visitors from Italy and abroad and 992 brands on display.
Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association and of I Saloni Nautici: “As Italy’s Association for Marine Industry, we firmly believe in the value that the Genoa International Boat Show brings to the domestic and international industry and we are proud of the strength and resilience the Event has shown. The 61st edition of the Show, which took place in September this year, was an edition that clearly benefitted from the incredible amount of hard work put in by the Association over the past few years, demonstrating to the world its determination and dedication, outperforming all expectations and taking its place as the most important industry event in Italy, and in Europe, to take place in person and in full compliance with health and safety protocols.”
The Association’s year-round calendar of institutional initiatives aimed at supporting and promoting Italian businesses on the international stage will see an important presence at Amsterdam’s METSTRADE (16th – 18th November), the international trade fair tailored to industry professionals who operate in the leisure boating components and equipment sector. For this occasion, in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Marine Industry Association has organised a delegation of 83 Italian businesses who will be given the chance to take part in the event, an initiative aimed at creating and supporting business development and networking opportunities for Italian professionals on a global scale.
At METSTRADE, the Italian Marine Industry Association will also be sponsoring the Boat Builder Awards, giving its name to one of the awarded categories, specifically the category dedicated to Environmental Initiative: sustainability is of paramount importance to the Association, as it is an issue tied inherently to innovation and the development of cutting-edge technology, a challenge that will define our future and the growth of the international leisure boating world.
Marking the end of the 2021 calendar will be the General Assembly for Members of the Italian Marine Industry Association, scheduled to take place on Thursday 16th December at the Ara Pacis Auditorium in Rome. The Assembly will be an opportunity for Italy’s boating industry entrepreneurs to come together and compare notes while learning the latest updates with regards to the sector as a whole in relation to the Association’s activities carried out throughout the year.
