UCINA CONFINDUSTRIA NAUTICA AT THE METSTRADE SHOW WITH A DELEGATION OF 72 ITALIAN COMPANIES

UCINA CONFINDUSTRIA NAUTICA WILL BE TAKING PART IN THE METSTRADE SHOW IN AMSTERDAM (19th – 21st NOVEMBER) WITH A DELEGATION OF 72 ITALIAN COMPANIES, A MISSION ORGANISED IN COOPERATION WITH ICE AGENZIA.

On Tuesday 19th November the METSTRADE Show,the international B2B exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the marine leisure industry, will open in Amsterdam, andwill then continue until the 21st November.

There will be 1.650 exhibitors coming from 55 different countries, with 288 coming from Italy (19% of the total).

UCINA Confindustria Nautica, the Italian Marine Industry Association, will be taking part in this important event with a delegation of 72 Italian companies that will be exhibiting Italy’s world-class products on the international market a trade mission organised in cooperation with ICE Agenzia, the agency for the promotion of business and networking activities for Italian operators.

Saverio Cecchi, President of UCINA Confindustria Nautica: “The METSTRADE Show will be another significant event in the internationalisation activities promoted by UCINA Confindustria Nautica in partnership with ICE Agenzia. We are here in Amsterdam with the leading representatives of Italy’s excellence in the marine equipment, materials and systems sector. This venue will also offer an excellent opportunity to present the 60th edition of the Salone Nautico, Genoa International Boat Show (to be held from 17th to 22nd September 2020), following its first presentation worldwide last October in New York City”.

UCINA Confindustria Nautica will be one of the sponsors of the Boat Builder Awards, sponsoring in particular the Environmental Initiative category, one of the eight the Awards include. This year’s winners will be announced, and IBI-METSTRADE Boat Builder Awards 2019 will be conferred, on the opening night of the Show, Tuesday 19th November.

36 companies representing 15 different countries have been shortlisted from 82 nominations that were evaluated by an international panel of judges. The Italian nominees are Amer Yachts in the Environmental Initiative category, Azimut Yachts and Riva for Retail Marketing Initiatives, and Opacmare with the Aquila shipyard as regards the cooperation between boat builders and suppliers; in the same category, but in the superyachts segment, Azimut Yachts with Naviop-Simrad and Benetti, who has also been nominated in the Design Solutions category.  

The large number of Made in Italy products among the nominees of the  DAME Design Award, the international award for the best design product, once more bears witness to the world leadership of the Italian yachting industry. Five Italian companies have indeed been nominated for this prestigious acknowledgement: in the Deck equipment, sails and rigging category, Bamar, for their innovative Boom Furling Manual Mechanism; Foresti & Suardi S.p.A, with FLATWASH, an extractable chromium-plated brass shower; Powerplast Srl, with FUSIONE C, a new sail material with carbon nanotubes; and Seares Srl, with their innovative hydraulic mooring damper Seadamp EVO; in the Machinery, propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems and fittings category, Marco S.p.A, with UP8-RE, a reversible electronic pump. All the products nominated for the Award will be on display in a dedicated gallery.

UCINA Confindustria Nautica is thus once more confirming its leading role in ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, and during the Show will be attending several international technical meetings and working groups.

The organisation of this mission of Italian companies taking part in the METS in Amsterdam concludes the promotion and internationalisation activities carried out by UCINA Confindustria Nautica and ICE Agenzia in 2019. Activities will resume in 2020, starting with an institutional stand and presence at the BOOT di Düsseldorf (18th – 26th January 2020).
