Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced that it has developed a new anodising technology dedicated to its outboard components. This innovative anodising method, which has already been applied on the DF140B outboard, will be progressively extended to other models across the Suzuki range.
The new technology improves corrosion resistance of components that come into contact with seawater, such as cooling ducts. As a result, the cylinder block, cylinder head and crankcase are even more resistant to corrosion and able to perform better at high temperatures.
In addition, the new anodising technology helps reduce CO₂ emissions released during the treatment of the various engine components by around 50% compared to traditional surface treatments.
