The Instant, Baglietto’s first DOM133 to be equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, has kicked off this season for the yard’s variants celebrating the company’s impressive 170th anniversary in 2024. Featuring exteriors penned by Stefano Vafiadis and with interiors designed by Leonardo Santi, the Instant is, in fact, the first of eight Baglietto models that will take to the sea this year following the yard’s celebratory year.
The Instant model is fitted with a hybrid propulsion system consisting of two Caterpillar C32 ACERTs, which are compatible with renewable HVO biofuels and capable of cutting CO2 emissions by up to 90%, along with an electric motor that also acts as a generator that is positioned between the two diesels and the gearbox.
The propulsion system is furthermore completed by its own storage capacity defined by a set of high-energy-density batteries which, once charged by the electric generator during navigation, make it possible for energy consumption by the on-board diesel generators to be reduced, for fully electric navigation to be possible, and for the model to stay at anchor for up to 9 hours in complete silence and with ZERO emissions.
The most stand-out qualities of the Instant’s interior layout include the presence on the main deck of a VIP cabin, along with that of the owner to bow (both have opening windows with an automatic fresh air regulating system), in place of the traditional lobby; the portholes featured in the four guest cabins that can be opened using the same system; and the inclusion of two internal staircases, accessible to guests and crew members, that allow for a direct connection to the sundeck.
Flexform, Cassina, Vitra and Softhouse are only a sample of the brands featured among the on-board furnishings. The Instant can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots in diesel mode and around 10 knots in full electric mode.
