64th Genoa International Boat Show – What’s New: Electric solutions and a low-emission 13-litre engine from Scania

17 September 2024

New electrified solutions and, for the first time in Italy at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show, the new DI13 engine for on-board propulsion and auxiliary applications will be on display. These are the new products from Scania, which continues to expand its proposals in the marine sector.

The new 13-litre marine engine is able to significantly reduce CO2 emissions by virtue of an improvement, at the same power output, of up to 8% in fuel consumption compared to the current generation. This translates into potential savings of up to 6.7 litres of diesel per hour of operation with a full load.

The new Scania DI13 meets current IMO Tier III emission standards and is compatible with fuels from renewable sources such as HVO and biodiesel.

Scania also continues to develop electronic solutions, such as hybrid or fully electric engines, which are already available. The Scania e-machine develops 230 kW continuous power and 280 kW peak power at 1,500 rpm and is coupled with a 104 and 208 kWh battery pack, the ideal solution in terms of sustainability for yachting enthusiasts.
