Rescue at sea will take centre stage with Veleria San Giorgio, who at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show will be presenting its new system, based on a drone associated with a rescue boat, that integrates advanced technology and safety tools to guarantee safety in critical conditions.
The use of a drone carrying an inflatable life jacket, VHF radio, and a safety light, along with a thermal camera, creates a rapid and effective response system that allows rescuers to intervene without putting themselves in a dangerous situation.
The system includes, of particular note, a thermal camera with which the drone, which, depending on the weather conditions, has a range of 3-6 km, is able to locate the person in distress even in poor visibility conditions, increasing the likelihood of timely response.
The drone, in its special container, can be operational in just 3 minutes and reach the person in distress in time to lower all rescue equipment into the sea. In addition, the equipped drone can be used as a means of shore reconnaissance and surveillance of approaching suspicious vessels.
The rescue system at sea, and in all aquatic environments, is the result of the partnership between Veleria San Giorgio and the Human Drone Team and demonstrates Veleria San Giorgio’s ongoing commitment to improving safety at sea by combining different skills to develop practical and innovative solutions.
