ZF is bringing to the 64th Genoa International Boat Show two new additions to its extensive catalogue of complete drive systems and components for all types of units that have made it an outstanding and reliable partner for propulsion systems.
ZF, with the new ZF 3000 NRD PTI transmission, is extending its expertise for marine transmissions to another field of application. The new hybrid transmission, designed for the power range up to 1,940 kW, is a space- and weight-saving solution for hybrid propulsion in waterjet boats.
This allows for quiet and low-emission operation, for example in harbours and protected areas. In addition, it provides powerful support in situations where rapid manoeuvring is required. The second new aspect is the ZF 3200 A/V PTI, with which ZF expands its range of down-angle transmissions for hybrid propulsion systems. Its compact design and lightweight aluminium housing make it the ideal choice for fast boats with limited installation space.
The ZF 3200 A/V PTI allows an A/V configuration in the power range from 1,295 kW to 1,940 kW. Thanks to the unique gearbox design, an additional drive unit (e.g. an additional electric motor) can be connected via its own drive shaft, without reducing the permissible power of the main drive. In this way, the ZF 3200 A/V PTI allows designers to implement hybrid propulsion where it was previously difficult, such as in yachts, patrol boats and ferries.
