64th Genoa International Boat Show – What’s New: Poralu Marine’s Invisibubble barriers contain waste and help protect the environment

5 September 2024

A multifunctional air barrier. This is one of the achievements by French company Poralu Marine, which at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show will be presenting Invisibubble, its system based on an immersed pipe that generates a barrier of bubbles that oxygenates the water, redirects debris and sediment, contains the spread of hydrocarbons, and protects the surrounding fauna.

Invisibubble, which can be installed in all bodies of water starting with marinas, prevents the spread of floating and submerged waste (organic or synthetic) by as little as 2 mm in size, diverting it to a collection point or containing it in a specific area. It also reduces sedimentation by retaining or redirecting fine substances, stops sediment dispersion and resuspension, and prevents water turbidity.

With the use of Invisibubble, which has no visual (it is submerged) or acoustic impact, oxygen levels in the water are increased, thus combating eutrophication and reducing odours and stagnant water. This reduces the excessive load of nutrients in the water. The result? Fewer plants and algae. Above all, Invisibubble does not disturb the many forms of life in the aquatic environment.
