Beneteau has perfected the range’s innovations after seven generations of the Oceanis with the new Oceanis 37.1 (11.93 metres) which will be making its debut at this year’s 64th Genoa International Boat Show. This is this the eighth evolution of the model launched in 2017 and offers two interior solutions.
Like the 30.1 and the 34.1, the Oceanis 37.1’s rigging is simplified and without a backstay. The entire transom becomes a platform that opens out to sea while the rigging is deferred to just two winches next to each wheelhouse. Only the halyards remain at the mast. In the cockpit, there are two comfortable seats and a central table with folding tops.
The interior offers considerable space. The saloon is in fact close to that of a 40-footer and, opposite the galley on the left, offers a sofa and a table for six. There is also plenty of room in the forward cabin with the double bed set at an angle to the keel line and a private bathroom. A second bathroom, opposite the chartroom, serves the two aft cabins, which also have doubles
A second layout is available with two large doubles, one forward and one aft, with the space in the starboard one left free as storage space.
Finally, Beneteau’s concern for the environment is expressed on the Oceanis 37.1’s use of iroko instead of teak and the possibility of fitting an electric motor with a 12kW pod and 10 kilowatt-hour batteries.
