64th Genoa International Boat Show – What’s New: Introducing the record-breaking eco-friendly Amer 120

28 August 2024

The largest yacht in the world using the Volvo IPS engine, the new Amer 120 (35.50 metres) from the Permare Group’s Amer Yachts shipyard features four 1000 hp engines that, while providing the same performance, correspond to 25% less power than the model’s competition.

Another stand-out technical feature of the Amer 120 is the model’s structure, built using less composite, replaced by metal and glass windows (two easily recyclable elements), thus reducing the composite by four tonnes and limiting its use to the hull and flybridge structure. A choice that goes hand in hand with the use of natural materials and, in the interiors, recycled Indonesian teak handcrafted in Italy.

The aft deck (equipped with a mega whirlpool tub) and the main deck interior saloon (with large vertical windows that define the entire yacht) are organised to flow into a single space.

The full-beam master cabin is located forward on the main deck while four doubles are available for guests on the lower deck.

The Amer 120’s engines are equipped with the Selective Catalytic Reduction system which reduces emissions and allows access even to areas of the sea where navigation is more restricted to protect the environment.
