Nutrimenti, the publishing house with 10 series devoted to the sea, will be presenting at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show the latest book by Giovanni Soldini: Dieci anni in oceano con Maserati (Giovanni Soldini: Ten years on the ocean with Maserati).
Here, Giovanni Soldini, with a preface by John Elkan, recounts the ten years of partnership with Maserati: the records, regattas, and four round-the-world races that marked his and his team’s adventure with the monohull Maserati VOR70 and then with the trimaran Maserati Multi70.
From the first studies and flight tests, through records, victories and some bitter defeats, the alliance between Soldini and Maserati has surpassed boundaries with the conversion of the trimaran into the first flying racing multihull with a fully electric system: an important ecological and technological achievement that required a lot of effort in finding the balance between autonomy and performance.
Giovanni Soldini (Milan 1966) is an oceanic navigator and a pioneer in the development of innovative technologies and set-ups for racing boats. He has over thirty years of solo and crewed oceanic regattas behind him, including two solo round-the-world races, six Québec-Saint Malo, six Ostar, four Transat Jacques Vabre and more than 40 trans-ocean races. His records include those on the New York to San Francisco Golden Route, the Hong Kong to London Tea Route, the English Channel and the original Fastnet route.
