64th Genoa International Boat Show – The Velja 43 expands its offer of “motor”-powered comfort and sailing charm

23 August 2024

Having set itself the objective to combine the comfort and livability of a motorboat with the unmistakable charm and quiet of a sailing yacht, Mediter Yachts has created the Velja 43, a boat in which the best of two worlds when it comes to experiencing the sea is available with maximum comfort and ease of handling.

The Velja 43, measuring 13.17 metres in length by 4.11 metres in width, is a project that features an entirely Italian design and style, created by the Matteo Costa Architectural Studio in Milan on the basis of the innovative “Mediterranean” sailboat concept studied by Mediter Yachts.

The most unique aspects of the Velja 43 kick off with the innovative deck layout equipped with a cockpit more than 4.50 metres long and a dinette section with sofas and table (when lowered this also becomes a sundeck) rising from the stern platform. Then comes the galley island behind the wheelhouse where all the rigging is shifted for easy sailing.

The Velja 43 combines cutting-edge ergonomic research with equally careful attention given to environmental protection, and so on the rollbar that protects the wheelhouse three solar panels have been installed to ensure energy autonomy when the boat is at anchor.

Just like the deck layout, the interior of the Velja 43 also features innovative solutions. In fact, the elimination of the galley (an optional cooking spot and sink are nevertheless both envisaged) makes it possible to considerably expand the spaces of the central living area, the owner’s cabin in the bow and the two aft doubles.

This solution is now flanked by two new interior layouts: one with 3 cabins, 2 bathrooms and an internal galley on the broadside and the other with 2 cabins, 2 bathrooms and a large internal galley along the port side.
