TODAY ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION COMPANIES CAME TOGETHER FOR THE ANNUAL SATEC CONVENTION IN FLORENCE REPRESENTING THE ENTIRE YACHTING SECTOR SUPPLY CHAIN
THE APPROVED FINAL BALANCE SHEET FOR 2023 SHOWCASED THE POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THE ITALIAN MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION’S INITIATIVES AIMED AT DEVELOPING MADE IN ITALY YACHTING.
Today, Florence’s evocative Palazzo Pucci hosted the inauguration of the Italian Marine Industry Association’s annual SATEC Convention, with a first day dedicated to the Private Assembly of member companies, a key moment for entrepreneurs and industry professionals to compare notes on the latest developments currently defining the yachting sector.
In his opening speech, Association President Saverio Cecchi began with an emotional welcome to all Confindustria Nautica members, after which he proceeded to thank Vice President Piero Formenti for his tremendous sense of duty towards the Association then briefly summarised the Association’s projects currently underway, entrusting the detailed presentation of Confindustria Nautica’s activities to his Presidential Team.
Vice Presidents of the Italian Marine Industry Association Maurizio Balducci, Piero Formenti, Alessandro Gianneschi and Andrea Razeto then took to the stage to illustrate the projects carried out during the year to support and promote the sector both on a national and international level.
Within the framework of the Association’s institutional activities, the Vice Presidents highlighted results achieved not just with regards to pushing the new implementing Regulations for the Italian Nautical Code through to the Italian government after having obtained the green light from the Council of State, but also the Professional Yachting Titles Reform and the measures contained in the so-called “yachting package” included in the “Made in Italy” Draft Law.
Also outlined were the initiatives that will see Confindustria Nautica take on an active role on the national stage within the General Confederation of Italian Industry and, on the global stage as a key member of ICOMIA (the International Council of Marine Industry Associations) and of EBI (the European Boating Industry Association), along with the coordination of overseas promotional and internationalisation activities aimed at supporting Italian companies abroad, carried out in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency. In 2024, member companies of the Italian Marine Industry Association collectively took part in the world’s leading industry events, from Boot in Düsseldorf to trade fairs in Miami, Dubai, Southampton, and the New York Design Week.
The Assembly came to an end with the unanimous approval of the Final Balance Sheet for the year 2023, as illustrated by Marina Stella, General Manager of the Italian Marine Industry Association. The final balance for 2023 showcased the positive outcome of the Association’s initiatives as the industry’s institutional representative, aimed at realising its constant goal of developing the Made in Italy yachting sector.
Once the Assembly came to a close, member company representatives and guests were able to enjoy the prize ceremony for the 33rd Boating Pioneer Awards at the Stibbert Museum. Each year the event, presented under the patronage of the Italian Ministry for Business and Made in Italy Industry, pays tribute to Italian and foreign entrepreneurs, designers, journalists and yachting professionals by acknowledging the excellence that defines their work.
Tomorrow, 28th June, the second day of the SATEC Convention will include the conference entitled “Nautica, Rinascimento Italiano. Dalla città delle arti, la Convention delle imprese della filiera della nautica da diporto lancia un Piano per la Blue Economy” (“Yachting, an Italian Renaissance. From the city of art, the yachting industry Convention launches its Plan for the Blue Economy”).
From the above Blue Economy Plan to the opportunities offered by the upcoming bill connected to Italy’s Budget Law, the Italian Marine Industry Association’s operational proposals will be illustrated during a roundtable event that will be attended by President of Confindustria Nautica Saverio Cecchi, Italian Minister for Tourism Daniela Garnero Santanché, Italian Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Edoardo Rixi, Gerolamo Cangiano from the Commission for Transport and Culture of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Coordinator of the Mission Structure for the Italian Minister for Maritime Policy Pierpaolo Ribuffo, President of Confitarma Mario Zanetti, Director of Human Resources at Fincantieri Spa Luciano Sale, Partner of Deloitte and Deloitte Private Leader for Italy Ernesto Lanzillo, and Head of Structured Finance at BPER Banca Nicola Porcari.
