An unmistakably innovative range of performance cruisers. This was how the project that started in 2022 was defined and the objective it set itself. On Saturday 1st June 2024 this project became reality, when a new Wally went to sea. The first wallywind110, the first model in the series that will include the wallywind130 and the wallywind150, was indeed launched from the Wally yard.
“The launch of this first semi-custom sailing model since Wally became part of the Ferretti Group in 2019 represents an important milestone for us,” commented Stefano de Vivo, Managing Director of Wally. “Not only has this event taken place during the brand’s 30th anniversary year, but it also confirms once again how relevant the sailing superyacht sector is for Wally.”
“The wallywind110 is more than simply a superyacht that promises to deliver exceptional performance,” explained Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer of Wally. “Wally has always been synonymous with performance, but here we can also see the significance of its design.”
With the second wallywind110 already under construction, the launch of the first example has brought together not only the entire senior management of Wally and Ferretti Group, but also the entire team and workforce that created this sloop designed by judel/vrolijk & co studio for the naval architecture and built entirely in carbon fibre.
At 33.42 metres in length, the new wallywind110 offers, among the model’s other stand-out features that always distinguish every Wally, a deck layout with an 80 square metre cockpit completely free of technical equipment that has been moved aft.
A cockpit that, as stressed by Bassani, is “comparable to that of a yacht of at least 60 metres. A result made possible by the joint effort of Wally’s in-house design team and the Santa Maria Magnolfi studio, which together developed this exterior and interior design solution.”
