A cat dedicated to the Big Game. This is the new Aquila 47 Molokai, the latest model from the US shipyard Aquila Power Catamarans represented in Italy by FC-Yachts, a company that operates under the Free Charter group of Cagliari.
Just over 15 metres long and 4.44 metres wide, the Aquila 47 Molokai combines a completely uncluttered cockpit, typical of US fishermen, with ample space and seating for its guests as well as the capacity to take on board up to 20 people. But that’s not all.
“The Aquila 47 Molokai, compared to single-hull fishermen, offers significantly more space,” explained Carlo Orione, managing director of FC-Yacht. “Without compromising solutions for the needs and equipment of fishermen, in fact, it also allows for three comfortable chaise longues to be set up in the bow and, above all, a cabin that considerably expands the unit’s possibilities of use.”
Powered by four Mercury 450R outboards the Aquila 47 Molokai reaches a top speed of 72 knots but, for a quieter cruise, it is possible to fit two Mercury 600s for 62 knots of top speed.
The new Aquila 47 Molokai joins the Aquila 28 Molokai (9.38 metres in length by 2.96 in maximum beam) offered by FC-Yacht with the Rent to Buy formula that envisages the payment of 20-30% of the purchase price, a monthly fee with the use of the boat for six weeks a year and, after seven years, the possibility of becoming its full owner. In the months when the boat is not available, Free Charter will rent it out to cover the costs of mooring, maintenance and insurance.
