New ownership for Cantiere del Pardo. The Calzedonia Group and the Wise Equity fund have acquired the historic shipyard founded in 1973 and on the market with the brands Grand Soleil, Pardo Yachts and Van Dutch.
The transfer of ownership follows the acquisition in 2020 of 60% of the capital of Cantiere del Pardo by the Wise fund with Gigi Servidati and Fabio Planamente (President of the Italian Marine Industry Association’s sailing sector), both having worked at the shipyard for many years and who at the time of the acquisition were the owners, retaining their positions of President and CEO respectively.
“Over the years Calzedonia has demonstrated its ability to uphold a steady growing trend,” commented Sandro Veronesi, founder and chairman of the Calzedonia Group. “Starting out as a company that only dealt with one product, Calzedonia has evolved into a group that is active in a great number of markets, operating with a multitude of brands. Long established companies such as Calzedonia, Intimissimi and Tezenis have been joined by recent success stories including Intimissimi Uomo, Falconeri, Signorvino and Atelier Emè. Our latest challenge will now be Antonio Marras and Cantiere del Pardo. Common factors of the two are the typical Italian love for the specific product, along with strong investments focused on production, distribution and communication. I am convinced that Cantiere del Pardo, which is already an source of excellence in its sector, will also find great opportunities for growth in sharing the know-how, experience and human resources of our Group.”
The press release of the handover to be completed by October 2023
explains that: “Servidati and Planamente, the two managers and proponents of CdP’s success, will remain partners in the company, continuing the current development strategy based on quality, respect for tradition, service-based excellence and with a great deal of attention dedicated to sustainability applied to the yachting sector“.
