Volvo Penta has announced the development of a new Volvo Penta Inboard Performance System (IPS) professional platform, which will be in production in 2025. The new platform is an evolution of the integrated rudder-propeller system presented by the Swedish manufacturer in 2004.
The new IPS professional platform promises a powerful and flexible solution for professional boats and superyachts from 25 to 55 metres and above with top speeds from 12 to 40 knots.
“Our passion, experience and proven track record with Volvo Penta IPS is an integral part of the continuous development of technology we are currently implementing with the aim of reaching new heights with this new professional platform,” commented Johan Inden, president of Volvo Penta’s marine business.
Alongside the new IPS professional platform, the Volvo Penta IPS range will also expand to include a new larger marine engine, the Volvo Penta IPS 40, with a brand new premium level of sustainable experience.
