Construction is proceeding at Centounonavi, the Viareggio shipyard founded by designer and entrepreneur Manuela Lucchesi and naval engineer Marco Arnaboldi, on Vespro, scheduled to be launched next Summer.
Vespro, developed under the motto Fast is green is 16.50 metres long and capable of reaching, thanks to two Man 1200 hp and MJP 350X waterjets a top speed of 56 knots with a range of 350 miles and a cruising speed of 50 knots.
“The name Vespro,” explained Manuela Lucchesi, “is intended to recall that moment just before sunset, twilight. This is not just lip service to the environment: Centounonavi has a great respect for the sea. Vespro, with its particularly efficient waterlines and propulsion systems, reduces fuel consumption and decreases emissions even at high speeds“.
Marco Arnaboldi emphasised that everything is proceeding as planned and commented: “The sophisticated composite sandwich construction process has confirmed all the estimated weights and today. With the boat’s deck coupled with the hull and part of the interior already fitted out, we are exactly in line with the numbers we had assumed.”
The layout of the first Vespro, equipped with folding bulwarks, revolves around a large cockpit, a solarium to bow, a living area under the hard top, while the interiors are organised with a saloon and a large cabin. It is also possible to fit a second cabin aft.
