TOMORROW 22nd SEPTEMBER MARKS THE BEGINNING OF THE 62nd EDITION OF THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW AS IT RIDES THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE
THE OPENING CEREMONY WILL SEE THE PRESENCE OF GOVERNMENT MINISTERS DANIELE FRANCO, ENRICO GIOVANNINI, MASSIMO GARAVAGLIA AND PRESIDENT OF THE CONFEDERATION OF ITALIAN INDUSTRY CARLO BONOMI
THE INAUGURAL CONFERENCE “THE YACHTING INDUSTRY: GROWING IN ITALY, CONQUERING THE WORLD” PAVES THE WAY FOR A WORLD-CLASS SHOWCASE.
Officially kicking off the 62nd Genoa International Boat Show will be the traditional flag-raising ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, 22nd September, at 10:30 am on the Terrace of the Blue Pavilion, with the spectacular “passing visit” of the Caio Duilio, a destroyer of the Italian Navy and greetings on behalf of authorities, first of whom will be the Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci and ending with the Italian Minister for Tourism Massimo Garavaglia.
The Inaugural Conference “The Yachting Industry: growing in Italy, conquering the world” traces a course of excellence beginning in Genoa and focused on the innovation and sustainability of the Made in Italy brand as it drives the yachting industry, an industry that has reacted incredibly to a cavalcade of international crises.
After the opening statement by Carlo Bonomi, President of the General Confederation of Italian Industry, and Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association and the company I Saloni Nautici, speeches will also be given by Carlo Maria Ferro, President of the Italian Trade Agency, Marcello Minenna, Director General of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, Marco Fortis, Vice President of the Edison Foundation, Lorenzo Tavazzi, Partner at The European House-Ambrosetti, followed by closing statements given by Giovanni Toti, President of the Liguria Region, and Enrico Giovannini, Italian Government Minister for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility. The meeting will be moderated by journalist Antonio Macaluso.
At 2:15 pm, in the Forum Hall on the Mezzanine Floor of the Blue Pavilion, the much-anticipated fifth edition of the BOATING ECONOMIC FORECAST will be held, with the presence of Saverio Cecchi, President of the Italian Marine Industry Association, Stefano Pagani Isnardi, Head of Research and Market Intelligence for the Italian Marine Industry Association, Marco Fortis, Vice President of the Edison Foundation and Professor of Industrial Economics and Foreign Trade at the Cattolica University, and Domenico Sturabotti, Director of the Symbola Foundation. The Roundtable will have as guests Carlo Maria Ferro, President the Italian Trade Agency and Andrea Benveduti, Councillor for Economic Development for the Liguria Region.
The Conference will also see the presentation of the new edition of Nautica in Cifre – LOG, the Statistical Yearbook produced by the Research and Market Intelligence Office of the Italian Marine Industry Association in partnership with the Edison Foundation, sponsored by the Italian Ministry for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility. The report, now having reached its 43rd edition, provides businesses, institutions and operators with sector-specific data and key analyses to paint a broader and more detailed economic picture of the Italian yachting industry. The event will also provide a preview of yachting supply chain data as compiled by the Symbola Foundation.
Following the presentation in the Forum Hall, starting at 3:30 pm, the “Yachting, Tax and Customs “ conference will provide the annual event dedicated to taking stock of tax, customs and industry-specific regulations and organised by the Italian Marine Industry Association featuring Andrea Maria Zucchini, Central Director of Customs, Anna Luigia Cazzato, Head of the Large Taxpayers and International Division, Sara Armella Studio legale Armella & Associati, Ezio Vannucci from Moores Rowland Partners and Maurizio Balducci Vice President of the Italian Marine Industry Association. Moderator of the event will be journalist Antonio Macaluso.
Also on 22nd September, the brimming programme of events will kick off at the Eberhard & Co. Theatre, starting at 2:30 pm with an event organised by the Genoa Design District, followed by a Press Conference held by the Local Port Authority – Coast Guard.
The opening ceremony and inaugural conference “The Yachting Industry: growing in Italy, conquering the world” will also be streamed live on the Genoa International Boat Show’s online SNTV.
